Learn more about Lockdown
What is Lockdown Escape Inverness?
LockDown-Inverness is a fun, new entertainment concept hosting two different real live escape rooms designed for groups of 2-6 people. For larger groups please contact us so we can block off two escape rooms to commence play at the same time – dual competition! On entering the rooms they look very ordinary… don’t be fooled, this comes with a twist! The rooms are full of clues, riddles, locks, puzzles and the key you seek is in the safe.
Looking for a birthday party out of the norm? That’s fun, engaging, hassle free and most of all your genius will remember and kindly thank you for? We have just the thing for 9–12 year olds.
Let the kids have fun searching the room, and using their brains to work out the challenges and ultimately escape the room within 60 minutes.
Birthday child gets a wee surprise in the final safe. As an extra, we can provide party bags and achievement certificates to make the event more hassle free for you. Please just ask.
How do I book an escape?
All bookings must be made online (minimum 24hrs in advance)
Once you have booked and paid for your preferred slot, it is unavailable to other customers. We are therefore unable to accept cancellations and have a strict no refund policy. This also applies to gift vouchers.
All games are paid online at the time of booking.
Each game is designed for one hour of intense fun! Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booked game start time so we can brief you. Games will begin exactly at their start times and by being late you will have less than 60 minutes to play. A debrief will also be given after the game and a chance to take some photos (will it be the Hall of Fame or the Hall of Doom)?
Once I’ve booked can I add additional team members?
Yes you can. Each room can hold up to six players. Just give us a call on 0787 244 9655.
Am I really going to be “locked” in a room?
Yes and No. You will be in a room with a locked door, but should you feel the need to leave the room at any time you can unlock the exit door yourself. Of course leaving the room early and before finishing all the clues disqualifies you from having a record time.
Will I get scared and am I safe to play Lockdown?
Yes, you are completely safe. There are no real terrifying aspects within any of the rooms; perhaps a couple of wee frights! If you want to leave the room at any point you can. All rooms are monitored so you don’t need to worry.
I’m pregnant, will I be able to join in?
Yes! The games don’t require any strength or physical force and a chair will be in the room so you can sit down at any point. Also, you will have a safety key to get out should you need to at any time.
I am claustrophobic? Will I be ok to play the game?
There is a spare key so you are never really “locked in”. We could leave the door open should your group prefer. You can come out at any point and watch your team via the gamesmaster camera and even send them messages (but no clues)! If you are still worried please ensure you let our Games Host know before you enter.
Will there be other people in the room with us?
Bookings and prices are based per room. Once you have made a booking, the room is secured to you and your team mates only. You will never be part of another group or coupled with other people. The escape is yours and yours alone.
Anything particular you recommend we wear?
Anything you want but please not your birthday suit! Don’t forget your glasses.
Do I get any prize/reward for escaping successfully?
The prize is the priceless moment when you finally find the solution and everything falls into place. You beat us!
Can we seek advice if we cannot solve the riddle? Will there be an explanation after the game?
Generally there will be one chance to seek for advice. We will not go through all the riddles after the game so you may have a chance to challenge it again.
Do you serve alcohol anytime at Lockdown?
No. Under no circumstances are you to consume any alcohol before playing your game. If you arrive under the influence of any alcohol you will not be admitted or refunded. This is in the judgement of the Lockdown team.
Do you accommodate special occasions such as Birthdays?
Yes! Birthdays, Anniversaries, hen or stag dos, engagement parties, leaving events, corporate events – Just let us know prior and we can ‘hide’ something!
What about accessibility and special requirements?
Unfortunately the building we currently operate out of does not have wheelchair access and we are situated up 41 steps on the top floor.
Very few aspects of the game require physical movements but we do advise that at least one member of the team does not have mobility problems. No clues require the ability to hear and the majority of the clues and puzzles are visual ones. Please contact us via email on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
How do I get there? / Can I park nearby?
You have quite a few car parking options: Eastgate Shopping Centre, Rose Street Car Park, & Strothers Lane Car Park area.
Inverness Railway Station is a very short distance away.
I have another question but I can’t seem to find the answer above
